Putting into Operation

Check the mains connection and the plug for mechanical defects!
Observe mains voltage: The mains voltage must agree with the data on the type plate of the unit. Extension cords
must have a cross section of at least 2 x 1.5 mm
Connect the air hose 6 to the Leister MINOR or ROBUST high-pressure blower. When the air contains dust, an air
filter must be used.
Alternatively, the unit can be operated off of a commercially available compressed-air supply with oil and water
separator. The air volume must be adapted via a Leister air-volume regulator.
The unit may not be operated without a sufficient air supply!
Connect the unit to the mains supply.
Adjust the temperature as required with potentiometer 8. The heat-up period is approx. 3 minutes.

indicated in the display 9. The heat-up period is approx. 3 minutes. The temperature is checked according to
DVS Guideline 2208.
For cooling down, turn the potentiometer 8 to the 0 position. Separate the unit from the mains voltage as

soon as it has cooled down.
Place the unit down onto a fire-resistant surface or use a suitable equipment holder.
Operating Instructions
– Practical demonstrations of the applications are available free-of-charge at Leister Process Technologies as well
as through our after-sales service agents.
– Perform a test welding according to the welding instructions of the material manufacturer and the national stand-
ards or guidelines. Check the test welding. Adapt the welding temperature as required.

General measures in case of error messages and malfunctions:
Turn the potentiometer to the 0 position or disconnect the unit from the mains supply for approx. 5 seconds (auto-
matic reset).
Allow the unit to cool down. Check hose connection, air flow, air volume and mains voltage. Readjust the potenti-
ometer to the desired setting or reconnect the unit to the mains supply.
– If the error is still given afterwards, please contact the respective after-sales service.
Heating-element protection:
– When no air flow is given, the heating system is automatically switched off.
– When the air flow is too low, the heating capacity is reduced and the temperature is limited to approx. 600 °C.

Maintenance, Service and Repairs

– Check mains connection and plug for interruption and mechanical damage.
– Before any work on the unit: Pull the mains plug.
– For secure and proper operation, keep the unit and the ventilation slots clean at all times.
– Use only original Leister accessories.
If the unit should fail despite the care taken in manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should be carried out
by an authorized Leister after-sales service agent.
