1 Preface
NOTE
Please read the instructions carefully before in-
stalling and using for the first time.
Follow the instructions.
Pass these instructions on to the owner for safe-
keeping.
Required qualifications for installation work
The touchscreen operating unit may only be in-
stalled by installers specialised in ventilation tech-
nology. Electrical connection, commissioning,
maintenance and repairs may only be carried out
by qualified electricians in accordance with the
applicable electrical engineering regulations (DIN
EN 50110-1, DIN EN 60204-1 etc.). Observe
safety instructions → following safety instructions
and installation instructions of the ventilation unit.
Requirements for specialist installers: Specialist
training and knowledge of technical standards,
EU Directives and EU Ordinances. Observe ap-
plicable accident prevention requirements. Ob-
serve occupational health and safety measures:
protective clothing in good repair etc.
2 Scope of delivery
Touchscreen operating unit, mounting plate and
connector plug.
3 Intended use
With the touchscreen operating unit, the user can
operate the ventilation unit and undertake indi-
vidual settings on it.
Numerous configuration options are available to
the specialist installer in the protected installer
area of the touchscreen operating unit.
Read the safety instructions in the installa-
tion instructions of the ventilation unit before
connecting the touchscreen operating unit to
the ventilation unit. Follow the instructions.
4 Safety instructions
WARNING Danger of electric shock.
Before working on the control, shut down all sup-
ply circuits (deactivate the mains fuse) and se-
cure so they cannot be switched back on. Attach
a clearly visible warning sign.
CAUTION Risk of injury when fans are
running.
Before removing the front cover of the ventilation
unit, wait until the fans have stopped.

CAUTION Risk of burning from hot hous-
ing parts on units with PTC heat register.
After removing the front cover, do not touch the
heat register. First wait until the heat register and
the housing parts have cooled off.
CAUTION Exercise caution when hand-
ling packaging materials.
Observe applicable safety and accident preven-
tion regulations.
Store packaging material out of the reach of chil-
dren (risk of suffocation due to swallowing).

6 Installation of RLS T2 WS
6.1 Retrofitting touchscreen operat-
ing unit
NOTICE Incorrect wiring will result in unit
damage.
Be sure to note the writing on the operating unit
and control circuit board. Only connect as shown
in the enclosed wiring plan.

• Not in direct sunlight
• Not above sources of heat
• Not in cold draughts (doors, windows)
Preparations for installation, to be made by
customer
1. Flush-mounted box at installation location.
2. Route connection cables at installation loca-
tion. Permitted: Shielded control cable, e.g.
LIYY 4 x 0.34 mm².
Fitting touchscreen operating unit at installa-
tion location
3. Fit supplied mounting plate on flush-mounted
box.
