Evaluation using the colour chart
The colours should be compared immediately as the
colour changes slowly with time.

The determined amount of protein in µg/ml is expressed
as an equivalent of bovine serum albumine (BSA).
It relates to the one ml rinsing solution used for
determination. The total protein content is reached by
multiplying by the number of ml of SDS solution used for
the assay.
c If applicable, national infection control legislation
guidelines should be taken into account.
d Rinse the cuvette with distilled water after use.
e Instruments should be subjected to a complete
reprocessing cycle after the assay.
Failure to remove SDS solution from the instrument may
lead to corrosion.
Evaluation
Lots of protein = contamination
No protein = no contamination
A little protein = low degree of
contamination, check again in the
course of further processing cycles
