Warning!
It is hazardous to modify doors along escape routes: The safety features of this product are an essential
requirement for its conformity with DIN EN 179 and DIN EN 1125. Do not make any changes which are not
described in these instructions.
Unsuitable doors reduce personal safety and intrusion protection: Only approved and technically flaw-
less doors are suitable for installation of the motorised security lock 509N. Prior to the installation of the
motorised security lock 509N, the door must be checked to ensure that it is attached properly and is not
warped. The door must be approved for use of the motorised security lock 509N. Door operating elements
may not impede each other.
The motorised security lock 509N is not approved for use on double acting swing doors.
Unsuitable locks impair personal safety and fire protection: The motorised security lock 509N is suitable
for fire doors and smoke protection doors ("Classification key", page 42). Check whether the door cer-
tification matches the lock. Make sure that the motorised security lock 509N is installed in the appropriate
size and with the correct accessories.
Unsuitable door seals impair personal safety: When door seals are used (such as profile seals or bottom
seals), no function of the motorised security lock 509N may be impaired.
Broken glass doors may lead to severe injuries: Glass doors or glass parts on doors must be made of
safety glass or composite safety glass.
Unsuitable fastening means reduce personal safety and intrusion protection: Suitable means of fasten-
ing must be used depending on the installation situation and materials of the door.
Incorrect or faulty installation impairs personal safety: The normal installation height for the horizontal
push rod is 900 mm to 1100 mm above the finished floor surface. If children are present in the majority of
the building, the installation high must be reduced accordingly.
The horizontal push rod must be installed so that the greatest possible effective bar length is achieved.
Any lock counterparts or coverings which are provided should be installed in order to ensure conformity
with this European standard.
Limited movement of the door jeopardises personal safety: All blocking elements must be installed so
that the free movement of the door is not impeded. Doors may only be secured with the approved locks.
No additional devices may be installed. Any door closers which are installed may not impair the actuation
of the door by children and infirm persons.
