VL 110
Slide the wheels (10) on to the axle. Use
a hammer to fix the wheel hub (9) in the
wheel axle.
COLLECTION OF SHREDDED MATERIAL
Use a receptacle placed under the
ejection slot for collecting the shredded
material.
OVERLOAD PROTECTION
Overload (e.g. blocking up of the cutting
blades) leads to a standstill of the
machine after a few seconds.
To protect the motor from being
damaged, the overload switch will cut the
mains automatically.
Wait at least 1 minute before restarting
by first pressing the reset button and
then the on/off switch.
In the event of blocking of the cutting
blade, turn the rotational direction switch
to the left position 1 before switching the
shredder on again.
ROTATIONAL DIRECTION SWITCH
The rotational direction switch can only
be operated when the shredder is
switched off.
Position 1: The cutting blade draws in the
material and chops it.
Position 0: The cutting blade operates in
reverse direction and jammed material is
released. Keep the green button of the
on/off switch pressed after setting the
rotational direction switch on position 0,
the cutting blades will turn in reverse
direction. Release the on/off switch, the
shredder will stop automatically.
Large objects or woody pieces will be
removed after several operations in both
cutting and releasing directions.
Use a pusher or clearing hook to remove
blocked objects from the feeding funnel
and ejection slot.
Always wait for the shredder to become
idle before switching it on again.
Longer material standing out from the
shredder could lash out when being
drawn in by the cutting blade.
Please kept at safe distance.

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
Feed the material to be chopped into the
right side of the feeding funnel (anti-
clockwise rotation of the cutting blades).
Longer material standing out from the
machine could lash out when being drawn
in by the blades. Maintain safety
distance.
Do not insert too much material at once,
as this can black the feeding funnel.
Chop garden waste that has been stored
for some days and is wilted and damp
alternately with branches. This prevents
the cutting blades from blocking up.
Do not place soft waste such as kitchen
rubbish into the shredder but compost it.
Extensively branched material with leaves
mist be completely chopped before new
material is fed in. Take care that the
chopped material can fall freely from the
ejection slot, danger of backing up.
The ventilation slots must not be covered
by the waste bag or the chopped
material.
ADJUSTING THE COUNTER BLADE (FIG.
C)
The counted blade (B) is set at a distance
of 0.5 to 1mm from the cutting blade (A).
This distance should be maintained to
achieve effective operation.
Soft material or wet woody branches may
be cracked instead of cut off, and a worn
counter blade may cause the same
problem after much use.
There is an adjusting device on the right
side of the plastic housing.
To adjust the distance insert the supplied
hex key (D) and turn clockwise so that
the bolt (C) will move toward to the
cutting blade.
Half a turn moves to the counter blade
0.5mm closer to the cutting blade.
After adjusting make cutting tests to
check if the best effect is achieved.
Ensure that the cutting blade does not
strike the counter blade, as this may
damage the shredder.
Heavy material or branches may result in
blocking of the cutting blades during
continuous cutting.
