Attaching the V-belt, attaching
the mowing deck at the rear
● Pull V-belt (1) forwards and fit
correctly onto the V-belt pulley (without
twisting).
● Lift up the mowing deck and hold. The
bores on the mounting must be aligned
with the bores on the mowing deck.
● Insert retaining pin (2) through the
bores, fasten with cotter pin (3).
● Repeat this procedure on the other
side.
Tensioning the V-belt
● Press V-belt tensioner lever (1)
forwards and hold in place.
Detach retainer (2).
● Tension the V-belt by relieving the load
on V-belt tensioner lever (1). Attach
retainer (2) to the V-belt tensioner lever.
7. Maintenance

7.1 Maintenance schedule

All the instructions in the maintenance
schedule for the ride-on mower must be
strictly observed. Additional or amended
maintenance operations when the mowing
deck AMS 127 is installed are noted
below.
Maintenance operations after each use:
– Remove grass residues and any other
dirt from the top of the mowing deck
AMS 127 and toothed belt (brush off or
blow off with compressed air).

– Mowing blade maintenance (

Check the blade fastenings and wear
limits, check the installation position of
the mowing blades.
Maintenance operations after every 100
operating hours:
– Replace mowing blades (
– Maintain the V-belt or toothed belt
(VIKING specialist dealer).
7.2 Cleaning

● Remove the mowing deck. (
● First, remove accumulated clipping
deposits in the mowing deck housing
using a stick.
● Clean the underside of the mowing
deck with water and a brush.
● When cleaning the upper side of the
mowing deck, ensure that the V-belt
and toothed belt do not get wet – never
spray water into the openings in the
covers.
● Clean the mowing blades with water
and a brush – under no circumstances
should you hit the mowing blades
(e.g. with a hammer) to loosen dirt.

Maintenance and checking of
toothed belts may only be carried
out by VIKING specialist dealers.
Checking the mowing blade wear
limits:
● Read and observe the section
"Checking the wear limits" in the
instruction manual for the ride-on
mower.
● Remove the mowing deck. (
● Turn over mowing deck (1) and set
down with the blades facing upwards on
wooden supports (2) approx. 20 cm
high and sufficiently long.
