f) Operating Mode (Function "F8")
The operating mode specifies how the two outputs "COMPR" and "HOT/DEFROST" are activated when cooling or
heating.
Operating mode "0": Cooling = Output "COMPR" is activated, heating = Both outputs "COMPR" and
"HOT/DEFROST" are activated at the same time
Operating mode "1": Cooling = Output "COMPR" is activated, heating = Output "HOT/DEFROST" is acti-
vated
Depending on the connected devices, either the operating mode "0" or "1" must be selected. Usually, the
operating mode "0" (basic setting) is used for connection of a unit that can cool and heat at the same time
(e.g. an air conditioner).
Observe the operating instructions of all devices that you want to connect to the temperature controller.
Operating mode "0"
Example: Temperature threshold = +10 °C
Hysteresis value (function "F1") = 3 °C
When the temperature measured via the temperature sensor is above +13 °C, the output "COMPR" is activated; the
LED "
" (2) lights up. The air conditioner starts cooling. At a temperature of +10 °C, the temperature controller
switches off the air conditioner; the LED "
If the temperature sensor measures a temperature of below +7 °C, the outputs "COMPR" and "HOT/DEFROST"
are activated at the same time. The air conditioner starts heating. The LED "
+10 °C, the temperature controller switches off the air conditioner; the LED "
The switch between "cooling" and "heating" is thus made via the corresponding activation of the two outputs.
This way, the temperature controller always keeps the temperature in the range of +7 °C.....+13 °C via the connected
air conditioner (target temperature ± hysteresis value).
After activation of the temperature controller via the button " " (7), the connected air conditioner is only
activated after the time set in function "F4".
Operating mode "1"
Example: Temperature threshold = +10 °C
Hysteresis value (function "F1") = 3 °C
When the temperature measured via the temperature sensor is above +13 °C, the output "COMPR" is activated;
the LED "
" (2) lights up. The cooling unit will start cooling. At a temperature of +10 °C, the temperature controller
switches off the cooling unit; the LED "
If the temperature sensor measures a temperature of below +7 °C, the output "HOT/DEFROST" is activated. The
heating unit starts heating. The LED "
switches off the heating unit; the LED "
This way, the temperature controller always keeps the temperature in the range of +7 °C.....+13 °C via the connected
cooling and heating units (target temperature ± hysteresis value).
After activation of the temperature controller via the button " " (7), the connected cooling/heating unit is
only activated after the time set in function "F4".
