Product Description

4.1

Overview

The MTS 6517 VCI is used by professional technicians as
an aid in diagnosing and repairing automotive electrical
and electronic systems. The MTS 6517 VCI is designed
to connect the vehicle to a host PC computer application
which then functions though the MTS 6517 VCI for data
transfer and Electronic Control Unit (ECU) reprogram-
ming.
Using the VCI Manager PC application software, you
configure the MTS 6517 VCI to communicate with a host
computer. The MTS 6517 VCI is capable of communicating
over a USB cable or wireless (WLAN).
4.2

User group

The product may be used by skilled and instructed
personnel only. Personnel scheduled to be trained, fa-
miliarized, instructed or to take part in a general train-
ing course may only work with the product under the
supervision of an experienced person.
4.3

PC System Requirements

The MTS 6517 VCI Software runs on a PC/Laptop.

The MTS 6517 VCI Base Kit includes cables and hard-
ware needed to transfer data and reprogram ECUs on
vehicles through the DLC connector.
The MTS 6517 VCI kit is available in three different
configurations.

Non-Wireless kit (1 699 200 086) ,
MTS 6517 VCI assembly without a Wi-Fi adapter,

Wireless-Infrastructure-Mode kit (1 699 200 087),
MTS 6517 VCI assembly with a Wi-Fi adapter,

Wireless-Point-to-Point kit (1 699 200 080),
MTS 6517 VCI assembly with a Wi-Fi adapter (VCI) and
a Wireless 802.11b/g/n USB Module (PC/Laptop).
