1. General
The Sundström SR 84 welding cassette is intended for use
together with the Sundström SR 200 full-face mask.
The SR 84 in combination with the SR 200 is designed specifi-
cally for protection against harmful gases, radiation and spatter
during welding, flame-cutting, grinding and similar work. The
welding cassette with full-face mask, combined with a com-
pressed air attachment, is especially well suited for use in stren-
uous or protracted work or if the pollutants have poor warning
properties or are particularly toxic. The design of the combina-
tion makes it usable for work in confined and inaccessible areas.
2. Use
2.1 Visor
Before use, a visor with a suitable shade number must be fitted
to the welding cassette.
2.2 To fit the welding cassette
• Place the welding cassette over one side of the visorframe of
the full-face mask.
• Hold the cassette firmly in this position with one hand and
thread the cassette over the visor frame with the other, so
that the edges of the welding cassette will grip the visor frame
all round.
2.3 To put on take off the full face mask
Follow the directives in the user instructions for the SR 200 full-
face mask.
2.4 To remove the welding cassette
• Grip the welding cassette stirrup and pull it diagonally out-
wards, away from the frame half of the full-face mask.
3. Warnings
• Change the visor immediately if it is found to be damaged.
• Materials that come into contact with the user's skin may give
rise to allergic reactions if the user is sensitive.
• The outer, hinged visor holder must be fully lowered while
work is in progress.
• If the welding cassette is equipped with a toughened mineral
glass visor, a protective visor should be fitted on the inside of
it.

4. Maintence
Personnel who are responsible for maintenance of the equip-
ment must be trained and thoroughly familiar with this type of
task.
4.1 Cleaning and disinfecting
Clean the welding cassette and visor with a Sundström dis-
infecting cleaning wipe SR 5226 or with a mild soap solution.
Cleaning wipe SR 5226 also has an anti-misting effect on the
visor.
4.2 Storage
After cleaning, the equipment should be stored in a dry
and clean location at room temperature.
Avoid direct sunlight. The welding cassette is not
affected by an extended period of storage.
4.3 Protective visor/welding visor
The visors must be CE marked and of standard 60x110 mm
size. To change the visor, proceed as follows:
• Release the locking clips with your fingers.
• Fit a protective visor to the inner, fixed part of the welding
cassette.
• First fit a protective visor and then a welding visor in
the outer, hinged part. The protective visor should face out-
wards, away from the welding cassette.
• Fit the locking clips and check that they are in their locked
positions.
