ラダーとセールコントロールの使い方は、
次のようにしてください。
How to control rudder and sail movement
for skillful sailing.
強風の時は操縦が出来なくなるので走行させないこと。
Avoid windy and stormy weather since it is impossible
to sail your yacht.
ラダー...... Ｂに向いたら中立に戻す。
セール...... 風に直角になるように開く。
Rudder ..... When bow heads for B, return
rudder to neutral position.
Sails ......... Set sails perpendicular to wind.
ラダー...... 左にゆっくり。
セール...... そのまま。
Rudder ..... Slowly move rudder to left.
Sails ....... Maintain sails as they are.
ラダー...... Ｃに向いたら中立に戻す。
セール...... そのまま。
Rudder ...... When bow is on course towards C,
return rudder to neutral position.
Sails ........ Maintain sails as they are.
ラダー...... 左に一杯。
セール...... ラダーと同時に閉じる。
Rudder ..... Steer hard to left.
Sails ....... At the same time, close sails.

マストの調整 MAST ADJUSTMENT
ヨットの性質として直進しているとき風上に向くのをウェザーヘルム、逆に風下に向
くのをリーヘルムといいます。この性質は、コードの調整によりマストを前後に傾け
ることで調整ができます。わずかにウェザーヘルムにすると操縦しやすくなります。

The property of a straight sailing yacht to point its bow into the wind- is called "weather

helm". The property to point its bow away from the wind, is called "lee helm". Both
properties can be adjusted by tilting the mast back or forth using the rigging cords.
Adjust so the yacht de- m onstrates slight "weather helm" properties.
走行のポイント FUNDAMENTALS OF SAILING
※シバー......船首が風上45°以上に向いたとき
セールがバタバタすること。
※The closest possible heading into the wind is a little
over 45 to either side of the wind. Any closer and
the sails will shiver (flap uselessly).
