In extreme bitter cold weather, less than 0°C (32°F), program
the primary filtration cycle to run for 24 hours to prevent
freezing
If you do not intend to use your spa, or if there is a prolonged
power outage during periods of severe freezing temperatures,
it is important that all water be removed from the spa and
equipment to protect against damage from freezing.
Expert winterization of your spa is highly recommended,
contact your authorized Jacuzzi dealer. In emergency situa-
tions, damage can be minimized by taking the following steps:
1. Turn off power to the spa.
2. Follow the directions for draining the spa.
3. Turn the massage/diverter selector(s) into the middle combo
position to allow the water in the plumbing lines to drain.
4. Turn the waterfall valve(s) to the open position to allow the
water in the plumbing lines to drain.
5. Open all the air controls and leave them open until you re-
sume use of the spa.
6. As soon as the water level falls below the seats (and once
draining has finished), try to remove the water from the recesses
in the seats and drainage point, for example using a liquid aspi-
rator. Do the same to suck the water from the bottom of the hot
tub once draining has finished.
7. When the water level ceases to drop, use whatever means
available to remove any remaining water from the foot well, such
as a wet/dry vacuum.
8. Remove the synthetic cabinet panel under the control panel
and locate the drain plugs on the front of the pump(s). Remove
plugs to allow water to drain out of pumps and heater.
Note: Use a wet/dry vacuum or other means to keep this from
flooding the equipment compartment. Replace the drain plugs.
9. Loosen the hose clamp on the circulation pump intake behind
the control box and pull the hose off (twist hose back and forth
while pulling outward). Tip hose down and allow to drain, then
reinstall hose and clamp.
10. Loosen hose clamp at bottom of CLEARRAY® system and
pull hose off of CLEARRAY® fitting (twist the hose back and forth
while pulling downward). Tip hose down and allow to drain. Then
reinstall hose and clamp. Remove the cover of the CLEARRAY®
system to access the UV bulb and quartz tube. Remove and store
the UV bulb in a safe location. Remove and dry off the quartz
tube then reinstall it. Depending on the length of time, consider
replacing the UV bulb when you resume use of your hot tub.
11. Reinstall synthetic cabinet side panel and cover spa so that
no casual moisture can enter into it.

Restarting Your Spa in Cold Weather

If you want to start up your spa after it has sat empty for a time
in freezing temperatures, be aware that the water remaining in
certain sections of the piping may still be frozen. This situation
will block water flow preventing the spa from operating properly
and possibly damaging the equipment.
We recommend you consult your authorized Jacuzzi dealer for guid-
ance before attempting to restart your spa under these conditions.
Contact your Jacuzzi retailer if you have any questions about
using your hot tub in winter or preparing it for the winter.

Maintaining water quality

To reduce the risk of contracting water-related pathologies or res-
piratory diseases, the water quality must be kept within the specified
limits. This requires constant monitoring as the chemical aspect in-
volves a combination of different factors that need to be balanced.
Delaying water maintenance work leads to poor hygiene that is po-
tentially damaging to your health, and also has an impact on the
life of the hot tub.
For a specific guide to maintaining water quality, consult the Jacuz-
zi® system guide on water treatment and the relevant catalogue, or
contact your authorised Jacuzzi retailer.
CLEARRAY™ Water Purification System
The CLEARRAY water purification system is an exclusive tech-
nology that takes advantage of natural ultraviolet radiation to
eliminate bacteria, viruses and algae potentially present in the
hot tub water. Ultraviolet light, also known as UV-C or germi-
cidal light, neutralises these organisms, also breaking down the
DNA, so as to prevent reproduction.
The CLEARRAY system, which is directly connected to your fil-
tration system, works as follows:
- the water coming from the pump, from the filter and from
the heater is disinfected by ultraviolet light, after which it is
introduced back into the spa.
The system is equipped with a power converter whose oper-
ation is signalled by two LEDs: the green one indicates that
the device is powered, while the red one indicates that it is
operating correctly.
WARNING!
DO NOT LOOK AT LIT BULB
SEVERE EYE DAMAGE
OR BLINDNESS CAN OCCUR
IMPORTANT: After one year, the lamp must be replaced.
If the UV timer has been programmed correctly (please refer
to the corresponding section), at the end of the allotted time
shown on the display, a message will appear indicating that a
new UV lamp needs to be installed and the timer reset.
UV lamp replacement and maintenance
of the quartz tube
To access the Clearray® device, it is necessary to remove the
front panel (or that of the audio system) and the right angle
panel.
These operations should only be carried out by qualified
installers. Please read the instructions carefully before
carrying out any operations involving the opening of the
Clearray® device.
