On/off function.
The OFF position of the rotary switch cuts off the power supply to the instrument
mechanically. In the ON position, a battery economy system cuts off the power
supply automatically after 5 minutes when none of the following conditions apply:
- pressing a button
- operation of the rotary switch
- reading the digital output
Before changing to the auto sleep mode, the tachometer emits a 2 kHz beep
for 65 ms.
Special functions.
There are special functions which are only accessible when the tachometer is
switched on. These functions are summarised in the table below. If at least one
button is pressed when the instrument is switched on, all the symbols on the display
remain lit until the last button is released. If several buttons are pressed, all the
functions of these buttons are taken into account.
