PROBLEM
The motor-sweeper fails to pick up large
particles of dirt or leaves traces of dirt behind
Sweeper leaves dust on floor or dust comes
out from side flaps
Sweeper fails to pick up paper, leaves, etc.
Motor-sweeper throws dirt forwards
Rapid brush wear
Main brush noisy
The main brush fails to turn
The motor-sweeper does not move, or moves
slowly
Dust leaving the fan and dust present in the
filter compartment

Dust filter shaker motor does not work
The motor stops when the motor-sweeper is on
a slope

TROUBLESHOOTING
CAUSE
Brush speed too slow
Working speed too fast
Brush pressure too light
Brush worn
Bristles bent, or string or wire, etc., entangled
in brush
Main brush collector encrusted
Suction fan broken
Filter clogged
Flaps worn
Front flap lifting mechanism not working
Front flap broken
Excessive brush pressure
Floor very abrasive
Material wound around brush
Brush drive belt broken
Belt tightener not working
Hydraulic fluid low
Filters broken
Bin too full
Bin not correctly closed
Bin seal broken
Microswitch faulty
Motor absorbing excess current because of:
- worn carbon brushes
- worn bearings
- armature or windings burned out
Oil level low (OIL ALERT)
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Increase engine speed
Reduce working speed
Adjust brush pressure (trace on floor)
Replace brush
Remove string or wire
Clean using an iron spatule
Check suction fan
Clean filter
Replace flaps
Repair flap mechanism
Replace front flap
Reduce brush pressure (narrower trace)
Remove entangled material
Replace belt
Repair tightener
Add hydraulic fluid
Replace filters
Empty bin more frequently
Close bin correctly
Replace seal
Replace the microswtich
Replace
Replace
Replace
Top up oil level
