Installation - Aquarius Universal 180 / 370
Important:
● The unit can be placed within the pond (submerged) or outside of the pond (dry)
● Do not lift the pump by its power cord.
● Install the unit so that it is not exposed to direct sun radiation (max. 104 ºF - 40 ºC).
Submerged installation
Attention! Risk of damage.

Ensure that the unit does not take in air or runs dry.
1. Align the intake of the suction unit
● Lateral Suction Intake: Allows for maximum flow where
the the deposits from the bottom of the resivoir are not
taken into unit.
● Bottom Suction Intake: when the suction intake is
rotated downwards suction is possible up to 0.2 in. (5
mm). Only operate the unit with the filter housing on
when intake is rotated downwards.
● Only operate the unit with the filter housing.
● For maximum water flow, it is recommended that the
largest tubing size for your pump is used.
○ If needed, cut the adapter using a hacksaw;
consult packaging for tubing size.
2. Screw the adapter onto the return. Attach tubing.
3. Place the unit horizontally with its feet downward
Dry installation
Attention! Risk of damage.

Ensure that the unit does not take in air or runs dry.
1. Align the intake of the suction unit upward.
● Operate the unit without filter housing.
● For maximum water flow, it is recommended
that the largest tubing size for your pump is
used.
○ If needed, cut the adapters using a
hacksaw; consult packaging for tubing
size.
2. Screw the adapters onto the intake and return.
Attach tubing.
3. Place the unit horizontally with its feet downward
● To prevent air from being taken in, ensure that
unit and supply hose are always below the
water level.

Start-up
Attention! Dangerous electrical voltage.
Possible consequences: Death or serious injuries.
Protective measures:
• Prior to reaching into the water, disconnect the power supply to all units used in the water.
• Disconnect the power plug prior to carrying out work on the unit.
Attention! The pump must never run dry.

Possible consequence: The pump will be destroyed.
Protective measure: Check the water level at regular intervals. Always place the unit below water level.
1. Set the flow at the flow control
Important:
● The unit switches on automatically when power
connection is established.
2. Switching on: Connect power plug to the socket.
● Switching off: Disconnect the power plug.
Attention! Risk of accident.

The installed temperature monitor automatically turns the pump off, if it is overloaded. The pump automatically
switches on again once the motor has cooled down.

Maintenance and cleaning

Attention! Dangerous electrical voltage.
Possible consequences: Death or serious injuries.
Protective measures:
• Before reaching into the water, disconnect all units located in the water from the mains.
• Disconnect the unit from the mains before performing any work on the unit.
• Secure the unit to prevent unintentional switching on.
