Before starting your model for the first time, you need to familiarise yourself with the control functions and test the
model functions.
The following functions shown in figure 11 are only recommendations for mode 2. Go by the options of your radio
remote control and according to your own ideas for control of all rudders. If all servos are to be connected to a dedi-
cated receive output when using a high-quality computer radio remote control, approx. 30 cm long servo extension
cables at the required number must be provided additionally.
The following functions are intended:
1) Elevator:
Up/down of the elevator
2) Rudder:
Left/right of the rudder
3) Aileron:
Contrary up/down of the outer rudder flaps. In a computer radio remote control, the wing flaps can be additionally
controlled in the same direction for a more agile control conduct. The wing flaps can also improve the model's
sailing performance by slight deflections downwards in the same direction.
4) Butterfly:
Both ailerons move up in the same direction, the wing flaps move down in the same direction. This function is called
„Butterfly" or crow's position and used as a landing aid (updraft is reduced). This function can only be set with a
high-quality computer radio remote control.
5) Motor:
Use a switching channel to switch the motor on or off. We recommend setting the flight controller to „very soft" in the
start characteristics. For this, observe the notes in chapter 14 for programing of the flight controller.
Attention!
Ensure that no loose parts, such as paper, film or other objects can be sucked into the rotor during a
function test.
Also make sure that the model is held securely during this test run and that no clothing and body parts are
within the rotation range or danger area of the rotor. Danger of injury!
Alternatively, you can loosen the folding propeller form the motor for the setting work. For this, observe the
notes in chapter 15 on replacing the folding propeller.
Recommended rudder deflections:
Elevator 10 mm / 10 mm
Aileron 15 mm / 15 mm
12. Checking the Control Functions
Rudder 30 mm / 30 mm
Folding flaps 18 mm down
