Dust Extraction

Warning! Danger of fire! Do not work metal or
wooden materials with the dust extraction
mounted. Hot metal chips can self-ignite or ignite
parts of the dust extraction.
Note: Do not use the dust extraction 14 when chisel-
ling, screwdriving or cutting threads.
The dust extraction 14 retracts while working, so that
the dust collector is always kept close to structural sur-
face being drilled. The dust extraction automatically
switches on and off with the power tool.
To achieve optimum extraction results, please observe
the following notes:
The drilling tool being used may not project over the
dust collector 17 or 29 (Example for an SDS-plus
drill bit: Max. total length approx. 160 mm, working
length approx. 100 mm).
Pay attention that the dust collector faces flush
against the workpiece or the wall. At the same time,
this makes working at a right angle easier.
After reaching the requested drilling depth, first pull
the drill bit out of the drill hole and then switch the
machine off.
Check the condition of the filter element 23 regu-
larly. Replace a damaged filter element immediately.
Mounting/Removing the Dust Extraction
(see figure F)
To remove the dust extraction, push the release button
10 and pull off the dust extraction toward the front.
If required, pivot the auxiliary handle 12 to the side.
To mount the dust extraction 14, slide it via the guide
grooves 21 onto the support guide of the machine until
it can be heard to engage.
Integrated Dust Extraction with Dust Box
(see figure G)
The filling level of the dust box 9 can easily be checked
through the transparent flap 22.
Empty the dust collector in good time, otherwise the
suction performance will be impaired.
For removal of the dust box 9, push the two unlocking
buttons 11 and pull the dust box downward out of the
dust extraction 14.
Before opening the dust box 9, gently strike or tap it
against a firm surface to loosen the dust from the filter
element 23.
Open the dust box flap 22 on the bottom side and
empty the dust box.
Check the filter element 23 for damage. Replace it
immediately when damaged.
Shut the dust box flap 22 and reinsert the dust box from
below into the dust extraction 14 until it can be heard
to engage.

External Dust Extraction (see figure H)
For dust extraction with a vacuum cleaner, the adapter
box 24 (accessory), which is inserted into the dust
extraction 14 instead of the dust box 9, is required.
For removal of the dust box 9, push the two unlocking
buttons 11 and pull the dust box downward out of the
dust extraction 14.
Insert the adapter box 24 from below into the dust
extraction until it can be heard to engage.
Place a vacuum hose 26 (accessory) onto the vacuum
connection 25. Connect the vacuum hose 26 with a
vacuum cleaner (accessory). An overview for the con-
nection of various vacuum cleaners can be found at the
end of these instructions.
The vacuum cleaner must be suitable for the material
being worked.
When vacuuming dry dust that is especially detrimental
to health or carcinogenic, use a special vacuum cleaner.
Adjusting the Drilling Depth (see figure I)
The required drilling depth X can be set with the depth
stop 27.
Insert the SDS-plus drilling tool to the stop into the
SDS-plus tool holder 1. Otherwise, the movability of the
SDS-plus drilling tool can lead to incorrect adjustment
of the drilling depth.
Without switching the power tool on, apply it firmly to
the drilling location. The SDS-plus drilling tool must
face against the surface.
Push the button for depth stop adjustment 16 and
adjust the depth stop 27 so that the clearance X in the
figure corresponds with your requested drilling depth.
Adapting the Dust Extraction to the Tool Length
(see figure J)
For more convenient working with short drilling tools,
the length of the dust extraction 14 can be adapted.
Push and hold button 13 and slide the telescopic guide
15 into the dust extraction 14 until the dust collector is
close to the tip of the drilling tool.
To draw out the telescopic guide, push button 13 again.
Dust Collector for Drill Bits (see figure K)
To change the dust collector 17, push the release but-
ton 28 and pull the dust collector out of the dust extrac-
tion.
To insert the dust collector 17, push it from above into
the dust extraction 14 until it can be heard to engage.
Dust Collector for Core Bits (Accessory)
(see figure L)
For drilling with core bits, the dust collector for drill bits
17 must be replaced against a special dust collector for
core bits 29 (accessory). When using the dust collec-
tor for core bits, the adapter box 24 (accessory) must
be used for dust extraction, not the dust box 9.
