Maintenance, cleaning the case

The HiFD drive case may be cleaned with a soft cloth slightly
moistened with water or a mild detergent. Never use any type
of abrasive pad, scouring powder or solvent.

before contacting Sony's Hotline Support.
Problem
lanp does not light when
power is on.
recognized by the PC, or
it does not operate
correctly.
The drive unit or AC
power adaptor become
warm.

The POWER or BUSY
The drive is not
Cause/Solution
Confirm that the AC power adaptor is
connected correctly.
The AC power adaptor's protection circuit
may have tripped: try unplugging it, waiting
a few minites, and plugging it back in.
The driver may not be installed.
The interface cable may not be connected
correctly.
An interface cable connector pin may be
bent or broken.
Not necessarily a malfunction (if they
become very hot, unplug the AC power
adaptor and contact the Technical Support
Center)
