Congratulations on the purchase of this SkyTronic power supply.
Please read this manual carefully prior to use.

Safety recommendations:

-
If the unit is damaged to an extent that you can see internal parts, do not plug the unit in a
mains outlet. In this case, please contact SkyTronic UK.

If the plug and/or mains lead are damaged, they need to be repaired by a qualified
technician.
-
Only connect this unit to an earthed mains outlet of 230Vac/50Hz.
-
Always unplug the unit during a thunderstorm or when it is not in use.
-
If the unit has not been used for a longer period of time, condensation can occur inside the
housing. Please let the unit reach room temperature prior to use.
-
When you unplug the unit from the mains always pull the plug, never the lead.
-
For indoor use only.
-
Keep out of the reach of children.
-
The unit should only be used under the control of a qualified person in schools, hobby and
self service centres.

Do not use in humid environments.
-
Do not let liquids enter the housing through the ventilation holes.
-
Do not place the unit in a warm location (max. 30°C).
-
Do not obstruct the ventilation holes and the heat sink. Leave enough space for sufficient
ventilation.
-
Do not touch the heat sink during operation. It might be hot !

Never open the unit yourself. Repairs should only be carried out by qualified staff.

The capacitors inside the unit might still be charged, even if the unit is unplugged.
-
Never plug or unplug the unit with wet hands.
-
Before maintenance or repairs, the unit must be unplugged from the mains.

Disconnect the unit from the mains prior to replacing the fuse.

The unit has an excellent short circuit protection circuit. Always remove a short circuit as
quickly as possible in order to avoid wear and tear of the parts and excessive power
consumption.

The unit is not suitable for prolonged use under full load.
Operation:
Controls on the front panel:
1. Voltage and current display
2. Voltage adjustment knob
3. ON/OFF switch
4. 2 connection terminals:
red
(+)
black (-)
Powering of an appliance:
Plug the power supply into a mains outlet. Switch the unit on. The LED must light up.
First set the required voltage via the adjustment knob (2) and then connect the appliance to be
powered to the red (+) and black (-) terminal.
The current display shows the current consumption. If the voltmeter (voltage) drops out, the
load of the power supply might be too high or short-circuited. In that case, check the wiring
and reduce the load in order to let the unit operate properly.
The power supply can deliver continuously a current of 2A for a max. 30 minutes. It can supply
permanently a current of 1.5 Amps provided that it is placed in a sufficiently ventilated
location.
