Full
No charging required.
Medium
Battery can be charged in the normal
charging mode.
Low
Battery can be charged in the normal
charging mode.
Discharged
If battery needs to be quickly charged,
choose Intelligent boostcharge.
Completely discharged
Immediate charging required if this LED
flashes. The charging process starts
with Softcharge. If quick charging is
necessary, you can select Intelligent
boostcharge.

Charging modes

Normal charging for:
— conventional batteries (open type
wet cells)
— maintenance-free batteries
— GEL- and closed type batteries with
a gas limit of 14.0 V in Bulk mode
and 14.4 V in Aftercharge mode.
Motorcycle charging
As with normal charging, however, the
ampacity is limited to 1 A (only item
no. 0772 4).
Cold charging for:
— Batteries with a temperature below
5 °C.
— AGM batteries.
The gas limit is 14.4 V in Bulk mode
and 14.8 V in Aftercharge mode.
This operating mode is
selected with the selec-
tor [1].
Boost (intensive charging mode)
Is used when attempting to reset the
function of deeply discharged batter-
ies. The LED for Normal charging and
Cold charging indicates that the Boost
charging mode is active. To select the
Boost charging mode, press the selec-
tor [1] for 3 seconds.
Supply mode
(Full charging state LED illuminates)
Supply mode is used as power supply
if the vehicle is e.g. displayed in a
show room and the vehicle equipment
is in operation while the engine is not
running. If the vehicle is overcharged,
the warning light flashes.
If the battery is overcharged, the safety
shutdown of the charger triggers
(only item no. 0772 15 / 0772
30 15).
Note
If no selection is made within 5 sec-
onds, the battery works with the opera-
tion mode made in the last selection.

Softcharge
Softcharge is used for deeply
discharged batteries. The battery is
charged until ready for normal charg-
ing, then normal charging starts.
Desulfurization
Desulfurization is used for batteries
which were out of use for a longer
period of time.
Basic charging
Basic charging is used to charge the
battery up to 85 % of the full capacity.
Absorption
Absorption charges the battery up to
98 % of the full capacity.
