5.2. TROUBLE-SHOOTING

PROBLEME
No lighting
No air
Sandblasting
irregularities

UGIN DENTAIRE
CAUSE
1. Bad electrical connection
2. Lamp is burnt
3. Switch is damaged
1. Bad pneumatic connection

3. Foot-control valve faulty or dirty
4. Internal pipes are clogged
1. Compressor capacity is not sufficient
2. Pressure is not suitable to the metal
to be treated
3. Abrasive is not suitable
4. Abrasive is worn out
5. Tungsten nozzle is not suited to the
abrasive grain size or it is clogged
1. Tungsten nozzle is worn out
2. Wrong position of nozzle – no
abrasive suction
3. Either the nozzle or the pipes are
logged
1. The projector inside nozzle is
clogged
2. Blasting valve is clogged or dirty
Pipes and nozzles are obstructed or the
abrasive s to rich in investment slags
Leaks at pipe connections
1. Joint is not perfectly airtight

PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED
Check that the plug is correctly plugged in.
Replace the lamp (see chapter 5.1).
Replace the switch.
Check connection to the compressor.
Verify pressure parameters and setting.
Check, clean or replace.
Check the connections and condition of pipes
up to the outlet end (nozzle).
Check compressor features: the minimum
capacity must be of at least 150 litres per
minute (to assure steady power) and a tank of
100 litres (to assure autonomy).
Follow instructions of the abrasive table
(chapter 4.2 - Installation)
Follow instructions of the abrasive table

Replace.

The nozzle is correctly positioned only when it
comes out from the nozzle-holder.
Check if some investment particles have
entered the suction pipe or the nozzle body.
Remove the cap and clean the injector.
Close the air intake, disassemble the valve and
check.
Stop up the end of the nozzle and operate the
valve; air flow will thus be inverted eliminating
any residuals from the piping. Replace the
abrasive.
Check the waterproofness of connectors.
Check plan of the sheet body, condition of the
joint and pressure of the closing dowel on the
window.
Check regularly condition of the dry filter or of
the extraction system.
