Use in double beds
(Right/left hand fitting)
When delivered with a double slat base, the pneuma-
tic ball handle is fitted to the right hand side of the
right bed surface and to the left hand side of the left
bed surface. Uni 20 _45 | 21_45 single slat bases are
delivered with a ball handle fitted to the left hand side
as standard. It is, however, possible to change the po-
sition of the handle:
• Undo the 2 screws of the cable retainer plate (1).
• Undo the 2 screws of the Bowden cable retainer
plate (2).
• Undo the two cable straps (3) with which the cable
is fastened to the slat base.
• Feed the ball handle (4) under the pressure
cylinder to the opposite side and use the 2 screws
to attach the Bowden cable retainer plate into its
new position on the cable retaine plate.
• Fix the cable retainer plate into position using the
2 screws.
If the function of the bed is impaired, check that the
cable is properly fastened to the cross bars and ensu-
re that it is not jammed or damaged.
Fitting to a bedstead
CAUTION!
Please note that when used as a situp bed, the lowest
point of the uni 20_45 slat base drops below the sur-
face level of the bedstead. It is therefore necessary to
create a 70 cm gap in this area by removing some of
the support slats. Ensure that the ball handle cable
cannot get jammed or damaged.
Presetting the sleep position
You can reach your preferred sleep position by manu-
ally adjusting the head section.
Adjustment options
Situp position
To reach the situp position, slightly lift your back and
pull on the ball handle (4). As a result, the back sec-
tion moves upwards whilst the foot section simulta-
neously bends at the knee. As soon as you release
the ball handle, the position is locked in place and
remains in the desired position.
Flat position (sleep position)
In order to reach the flat sleep position from the situp
position described above, pull on the ball handle and
push down with your upper body.

Safety instructions
CAUTION!
Never operate the pneumatic situp frame without a
mattress in place, as there is a danger of injury from
the back section moving too abruptly. When installing
the slat base, ensure that the head, back and foot
sections are not obstructed by furniture and that the
cables cannot get jammed.
What to do in case of malfunctions
Once adjusted, the back and knee sections cannot be
locked. Check that the cable runs freely and that the-
re are no bends in it. Ensure that the ball handle can
move freely and is not jammed.
The back and knee sections are locked permanently
Check whether the cable run is dislodged from the
pneumatic springs. If so, contact your expert stockist.
The ball handle cannot be moved or only with dif-
ficulty
Check the cable run for jams. Clear any jams and
rearrange the cable in a large loop. Damaged cable
runs must be exchanged by your expert stockist.
