Testing the full-face mask
Preparing the test device
Necessary accessories:
— Adaptor RA (R 53 344)
— Adaptor P/PE/RP (R 53 345)
— If necessary, mask holder S (R 53 930)
— If necessary, mask holder HC (AG 02 408)
Attach the test head.
Inflate the test head until the
full-face mask can be slipped
on (1).
Moisten the face seal and
exhalation valve visor of the
full-face mask with water if
necessary.
Fit the full-face mask on the test head.
Use the mask holder for masks/helmet combination, if
necessary.
Inflate the test head until the face seal of the full-face
mask makes contact throughout (1). Do not overstretch
the test head.
Seal the inhalation valve with the adaptor (2).
Testing the opening pressure of the exhalation valve
The opening pressure can only be tested in the case of
positive pressure masks.
Slowly generate a positive
pressure (1).
Read the opening pressure (2)
and compare with the target

Check for leaks
Set the test time
Generate the test pressure
Briefly pull the joystick (2) for
fine adjustment forwards sev-
eral times.
The pressure is displayed on
the low pressure manometer
(3).
Start the timer (1).
Read the pressure at the end of the test time and com-
pare the pressure difference with the target value
Testing the air-tightness with a sealed exhalation
valve
Necessary accessories:
— Exhalation valve sealing plug RA/ESA (R 53 349)
— Exhalation valve sealing plug P/PE (R 53 346)
— Exhalation valve sealing plug FPS 7000 (AG 02 770)
Take out the exhalation valve
visor and seal the valve seat
with the sealing plug (1).
Set the test time
Generate the test pressure
(3).
The pressure is displayed on
the low pressure manometer (4).
Start the timer (2).
Read the pressure at the end of the test time and com-
pare the pressure difference with the target value
Leak test underwater
Necessary accessories:
— Exhalation valve sealing plug RA/ESA (R 53 349)
— Exhalation valve sealing plug P/PE (R 53 346)

Make sure that the valve seat
of the exhalation valve is
sealed with the test plug.
Detach the test head.
Immerse the test head includ-
ing the full-face mask in water.
Generate the test pressure
(1).
Slowly turn the test head
including the full-face mask
under the surface of the water.
Escaping air bubbles indicate the source of the leak.
Ending the test
Depressurize the line system.
Remove the test assembly.
