PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS

5.4.1

Adaptation interventions

Firstly it is advisable to check the dimensions of the
available space in the existing fireplace and to compare
them with those of the appliance and of the technical data
sheet. If an adaptation operation is necessary, by cutting
or modifying the internal walls of the existing fireplace,
be careful not to compromise its stability.
Any wooden beam, or any other finish in combustible
material must be adequately insulated (or placed outside
the area ofi rradiation of the fire box) and maintain a
distance of at least 1 cm with respect to the appliance to
ensure free air flow to avoid overheating.
5.4.2
Combustion air inlet of the fireplace:
The fireplace, during its operation, takes a quantity of air
from the environment in which it is placed; this air must
be restored through an air intake outside the room itself
(Fig. 5.4.2 - PA = Air Intake).
It is possible to use a rear combustion air pipe to the
machine with a pipe diameter of 80 mm, max length 6
m. equivalent for external direct connection. (Fig. 5.4.3)
If the back wall of the fireplace is an external wall, make
a hole for the intake of combustion air at a height of
approximately 20-30 cm; the diameter of the hole is indicated
in the table of technical data of the product manual.
Make sure that the combustion air inlet or the version
piped outdoors is not blocked accidentally.
A permanent ventilation grille must be placed externally;
in particularly windy areas exposed to extreme weather
provide a rain and wind-proof protection device.
If it is not possible to create the external air inlet in the
room, an external hole can be created in an adjacent room
provided it communicates permanently with a transit grille.
THE removal of combustion air from garages, stores
of combustible material or from rooms used for
activities with a fire hazard is prohibited.
If there are other heating appliances in the room, the
combustion air intakes must guarantee the necessary
volume of air for the correct operation of all the devices.
If one or more exhaust fans (range hoods) are installed
and operating in the room where the stove is located,
combustion problems may occur due to a lack of
combustion air.
5.4.3
Optional 680 m³/h ventilation kit housing
For existing fireplaces, prepare a technical compartment
under the appliance base to house the fan, whose
dimensions are at least those indicated in the figure (Fig.
5.4.3a - 5.4.3b)
PA
Max 6 mt.
