Igniting the pilot light and burner

DANGER! Risk of explosion
D Do not switch on the appliances if you smell gas in the installation room! Risk of explosion!
Immediately close the gas shut-off device at the customer location! Do not switch electrical
appliances On or Off! Open windows and doors! Thoroughly air out the installation room by
providing a draught! Leave the room! Notify the emergency service of the gas grid operator!
Determine the location of the gas leak after adequate air exchange has taken place!

. After igniting the pilot light, keep the gas control pressed down for approx. 5 - 10 seconds
− so that the thermal element can sufficiently heat up and
− the gas supply is not automatically shut off again (automatic safety pilot).
Setting the burner light
. Release the gas control after the ignition procedure and turn onto a high heating capacity.
. To change the setting from a large to a small flame, press in the gas control and turn to a
small flame. The temperature range between a large and small flame is continuous.

D High heating capacity, high flame symbol
. Repeat ignition procedure for the second burner.
Keep burner ready for operation
. If the appliance is not required for a short amount of time, turn the gas control to "pilot light"

D The burner flame goes out and the pilot light continues to burn.
Note on safety pilot
D The appliance is not fitted with a thermoelectrical safety pilot. When extinguishing the pilot
light, the gas supply is automatically interrupted by the safety pilot, thus preventing an unin­
tentional leakage of the gas.

. Open the customer gas tap (main shut-off
device).
. Open the gas tap.
D When the appliance has not been used for a
longer period of time: e. g. the main shut-off
device was closed, it may take slightly
longer before the pilot light ignites (the gas
supply has to fill up with gas again).
. Press in gas control, turn to ignition symbol
and keep pressed down.
D The gas for the pilot light escapes.
. Continue pressing button for Piezo spark
ignition until the pilot light starts to burn.
D The pilot light can be controlled by means of
the ventilation slits in the collecting tray.
