Operating Instructions
Attention
It is possible that this setting method might lead to malfunctions during operation due to the fact that the
feed path of the safety edge, the dynamics of the door and the signal delay of the control unit cannot be
considered. The following malfunctions might occur: door is not closing, the safety edge function will
be turned off more than 50 mm above ground and therefore the safe operation according to regulation
EN 12445: "Industrial, commercial and garage doors and gates - Safety in use of power operated doors
- Test methods", is no longer guaranteed.
After you change back to normal operation, the setting of the internal pre-limit switch has to be tested
(see under Note in the previous chapter).
Should the setting of the internal pre-limit switch be above the officially regulated distance (<50 mm)
or should you have malfunctions, we recommend to repeat the setting of the end positions by using the
VES measuring tool or a similar device (height: 30..40 mm)since this setting method considers the feed
path of the sensitive edge, the dynamics of the door and signal delay of the control unit and therefore the
internal pre-limit switch is set exactly according to the height of the measuring tool.
Programming the semi-opening position (1/2 Torhöhe/STOP X)
To.program.the.semi-opening.position,.the.door.end.positions.must.be.programmed.(Betr.LED.must.illuminate).
To.do.this,.proceed.as.follows:
Step 1:
Activate.the.Semi-opening (1/2 Torhöhe/STOP X).function.by.bridging.terminals.A11/B11.
Step 2:
Move.the.door.to.the.bottom.end.position.
Step 3:
Press.the.Prog.programming.button.on.the.ELS.Professional.Card.3.1.until.(approx..3.s).the.Betr.LED.starts.to.flash.(flashing.
code:."flashes.7x").
The.control.now.moves.the.door.in.deadman's.mode.
Step 4:
Move.the.door.to.the.desired.semi-opening.position.
Step 5:
In.order.to.store.the.position,.press.the.Prog.programming.button.again..The.control.stores.this.position.and.automatically.
changes.to.normal.mode..This.is.indicated.by.illumination.of.the.Betr.LED.
If.the.position.cannot.be.programmed,.the.opening.height.is.too.low..Raise.the.door.higher.and.repeat.Step.5.
Deleting the programmed door end positions
Whenever.you.change.to.setting.mode.to.set.the.door.end.positions,.the.programmed.door.end.positions.and.also.the.pro-
grammed.semi-opening.position.(1/2 Torhöhe/STOP X),.where.applicable,.will.be.deleted.
Attention
Whenever the drive and/or ELS Professional Card 3.1 is changed, the door end positions must be re-
programmed before commissioning the control. If this is not done, then the door end positions may be
overrun.
Behaviour after power failure or manual activation of the drive
After.power.has.been.restored.(switching.on.of.the.main.switch/release.of.emergency.stop.button),.or.after.manual.activation.
of.the.drive.(e.g..by.crank.handle),.the.control.must.redetermine.the.current.door.position..This.occurs.during.a.reference.
run.by.overrunning.the.reference.encoder.in.the.BES.drive..The.need.for.a.reference.run.is.indicated.by.continuous.flashing.
of.the.Betr.LED.
Should.the.door.be.close.to.one.of.the.end.positions.(below.the.lower.reference.value.or.above.the.upper.reference.value),.
the.door.will.not.travel.any.further.in.those.directions.for.safety.reasons.
As.soon.as.the.exact.door.position.has.been.determined.by.the.reference.run,.movement.is.released.in.both.directions.again.
and.the.control.changes.to.normal.mode..This.is.indicated.by.continuous.illumination.of.the.Betr.LED.
