Sanitizing SmartServe™

Before Use

SmartServe™ must be sanitized before daily use.
1. Wash SmartServe™ following instructions in
"General Cleaning" on page 9.
Sanitize using 15 ml (1 tablespoon) of bleach

per 3.8 liter (1 gallon) of clean, cool water
(60°F/16°C), mixed according to the instructions
on the bleach. (If using a sanitizing solution
other than bleach, test the concentration using
commercial test strips. Concentration levels
should be between 100 and 200 parts per
million of bleach to water.)
Turn ON (I) by pressing the power switch (3)

Insert cup filled with sanitizing solution.

Blending or Mixing Instructions
Place cup in cup holder (8), close door (5), and

Run any preprogrammed cycle (using the 1–3

and A–C buttons). DO NOT OPEN DOOR (5)!
For MIC Only:
• At end of cycle when cup shield (14) moves
upward, slide the door assembly (9) toward
you slightly to pause the cycle.
• Use sanitizing syringe (17) to inject 60 ml of
sanitizing solution into the sanitizing port (11).
Remove sanitizing syringe (17) and set aside.
• Wait 2 minutes or appropriate sanitizing time.
• Replace door assembly (9) and thumbscrews
(6).
Cycle will now finish and return cup shield (14)
to the highest position.
6. After appropriate sanitizer time, remove cup
and pour contents down the drain (10).
7. Allow the equipment to rinse.
For MIC Only:
• Press the RINSE button (2b).
NOTE: If this is done at end of day, turn OFF (O)
and remove door assembly (9) to allow parts to
dry fully.
When cycle ends, the cup shield raises back up

and the display shows "BLEND COMPLETE –
PLEASE RINSE." DO NOT OPEN DOOR (5)
UNTIL THE SHIELD HAS RETURNED TO THE
HOME POSITION.
Remove cup. Close the door (5). The cup

shield will lower into wash chamber (10).
Rinsing cycle runs for a predetermined time
period and shield raises. Display will show
"RINSE COMPLETE." DO NOT OPEN DOOR (5)
UNTIL THE SHIELD HAS RETURNED TO THE
HOME POSITION.
