HOW DO I COOK WITH THE
PETROMAX DUTCH OVEN?
The Petromax Dutch Oven is suitable for your
kitchen oven, but it is really great when you
want to prepare your favourite food over an
open-air fire or with a suitable barbecue grill.
We recommend using high quality briquettes
that hold the heat. Follow the instructions below
to maintain a core temperature of about 170°C
(338°F).
• Petromax ft3: amount of briquettes for
lid: 10 / amount of briquettes for pot: 5
• Petromax ft6: amount of briquettes for
lid: 15 / amount of briquettes for pot: 10
• Petromax ft9: amount of briquettes for
lid: 15 / amount of briquettes for pot: 11
• Petromax ft12: amount of briquettes for
lid: 17 / amount of briquettes for pot: 12
Turn the lid counter-clockwise every 15 minutes
or so. This will result in delicious food that is
evenly cooked all around. After 1 hour or so,
replace the briquettes by new ones.
