of the gearbox. Check the cables for any signs of rust, wear, defects and any possible dam-
age to the sheaths.
WARNING - If problems are found, replace the cables before riding.
Lubrication
All the central points of the rear derailleur must be lubricated with a special oil at least
once a month.
Make sure you have removed excess oil to avoid getting dirt in the mechanisms.
Gear cables must be cleaned and covered with a thin layer of grease every 6 months
or whenever new cables are installed.
Clean and lubricate the chain after each intensive use of the bike.
Derailleur
Although the rear derailleur is initially factory-fitted, it should be inspected and adjusted
before riding the bicycle. (We recommend going to a professional technician)
Rear derailleur
Begin by moving the rear derailleur to the highest shift indicated, disconnect the ca-
ble from the rear derailleur and position the chain in the smallest sprocket.
Adjust the H screw in order that the guide pulley and the smallest sprocket are verti-
cally aligned in parallel. Reconnect the cable so that it is tense and tighten with force
the screw that secures the cable so that the cable does not unfasten. Try the gearbox
on all the sprockets, making sure that there are no noises or tensions for each gear. If
necessary, use the regulator to perfect the cable tension by turning it in the direction
you want the chain to go. For example, turning clockwise will decrease tension and
the chain
will move from the wheel, while turning counter-clockwise will increase the tension
and the chain will approach the wheel. Move the gear to ratio one and place the
chain on the largest sprocket.
Adjust screw L turning it a quarter of a turn until the pulley guide will be vertically
aligned with the largest sprocket. Again, try the gearbox on all the sprockets several
times, check that each gear works without any obstacles or noise. It may take more
than one attempt before the derailleur and cable are properly adjusted.
WARNING – Make sure the chain turns correctly.
