Safety instructions on workplace

›
Make sure there are no persons or objects in the felling area.
›
Block the paths in the felling area with clear warning signs and
barrier tape.
›
Maintain a safety distance between the trees to be felled with
a radius of at least 2 tree lengths.
›
Make sure that the workplace is free of tree scraps, obstacles and
objects likely to cause falling.
›
Ensure that you have a level area with safe footing and with
sufficient freedom of movement.
›
In order to ensure obstacle-free fall back, clear a fall-back area in an
angle of approx. 45° behind the tree to be felledfrom branches and
other obstacles.
›
Set down the required tools so that they are immediately at hand.
›
Make sure that the required tools do not get in your way.
›
Make sure that adequate first aid equipment is available at the
workplace.
›
Only work in daylight.
›
Only work under favourable weather conditions. Felling under high
winds, during electrical storms, in presence of black ice or when the
ground is frozen is prohibited.

Behaviour in emergencies

If, for example, there is a direct risk of personal injuries or damage to
the Nordforest Titan 80 Mechanical Felling Wedge due to malfunctions
or hazardous situations:

Immediately shut down the Nordforest Titan 80 Mechanical Felling
Wedge.
›
Do not actuate the ratchet and leave the Nordforest Titan 80
Mechanical Felling Wedge in the felling cut.
›
Immediately leave the danger zone.
›
Get the dealer to rectify the malfunctions.
