Repairing battery terminals
Loose or corroded battery terminals will cause blown bulb of the
headlight and indicators as well as poor contact of the terminals.
Check the battery terminals and retighten them if they are loose. If
white powder is found on/around the battery terminals, remove the
batteries and clean the terminals with lukewarm water. If the battery
terminals are corroded, clean them using a wire brush or sand paper.
After cleaning, allow the terminals to dry thoroughly, connect the
terminals and apply grease to the terminals.
The batteries give off explosive gases; keep sparks, flames and
cigarettes away. Provide adequate ventilation when charging or
using batteries in an enclosed space.
The batteries contain sulfuric acid (electrolyte). Contact with skin or
eyes may cause severe burns. Wear protective clothing and a face
shield.
−
If electrolyte gets on your skin, flush with water.
−
If electrolyte gets in your eyes, flush with water for at least 15
minutes and call a physician immediately.
Electrolyte is poisonous.
−
If swallowed, drink large quantities of water or milk and follow
with milk of magnesia or vegetable oil and call a physician.
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
