13. Safety Inspection
All inspections and repairs must be recorded in a maintenance diagram. This does not only apply to your own
inspections work but also to inspection work carried out by your authorised pewag distributor. When the equipment
is handed in for maintenance and inspection, the maintenance diagram must always be provided.
Defective pipe hooks
On discovering any form of wear or damage, the following measures must be taken.
• Take the lifting hook out of service (note the date of failure of the lifting hook)
• Try to identify the cause of the failure, for example (see full list in Chapter 10): Such damages are not covered by the
warranty! Please follow this procedure to guarantee your own safety and that of your colleagues
• Return your lifting hook with maintenance history to your authorised pewag distributor
• Once the hook has been overhauled/repaired by your distributor, it can be used again
