Safety instructions
Intended use
❐ The device may only be used for boiling water and not for boiling milk or other liquids. Do
not use the device for making tea or coffee.
❐ The device is intended for domestic, not commercial, use.
❐ Only use the device as described in these instructions. Any other use is deemed improper.
Risks of injury
❐ Keep children away from the device and packaging.
❐ This device is not suitable for use by persons (including children) with restricted sensory
or intellectual abilities or with a lack of experience and/or knowledge unless they are
supervised by a person responsible for their safety or have received instructions from that
person as to how to use the device. Children must be under supervision to ensure that
they do not play with the device.
❐ Only use and store the device out of the reach of children. The mains cord may also not
be accessible for children.
❐ ATTENTION! Scalding hazard! Be careful when working with hot steam, water and hot
surfaces. Only take hold of the hot device by the handle.
For your health
❐ There may be some production residues stuck to the device. To avoid health risks, clean
the device before fi rst use (see section "Cleaning and storage").
❐ Only boil fresh (drinking) water that has a cold to moderately warm temperature. Do not
use any water from a bath tub, sink or other containers.
Setting up and connecting the device properly
❐ Only use the device in enclosed areas.
❐ Always place the device on a dry, level, fi rm and heat-resistant surface.
❐ Do not subject the device to extreme temperatures, severe changes in temperatures,
direct sunlight or moisture.
❐ Maintain adequate distance to heat sources such as stovetops or ovens in order to prevent
damages to the device.
❐ Only connect the device to a properly installed socket with protective earth contacts.
The socket must also be easily accessible after the device has been connected. The mains
voltage must correspond to the technical data of the device (see section "Technical data").
Only use proper extension cords, whose technical data correspond to those of the device.
❐ Ensure that the connected mains cord does not pose a tripping hazard. Do not allow the
cord to hang over the edge of a table or kitchen worktop. Someone could catch him/her-
self and pull down the device.
❐ Lay the cable such that it is not crushed or creased and such that it does not come into
contact with hot surfaces.
