Panic function C – operation
Opening the door – in the escape direction (from inside)
1. Operate the panic bar or the door handle.
 The lock was unlocked and the door can be opened from inside.
 The outer door handle remains disengaged and can only be opened from
outside with a key.
Opening the door – against the escape direction (from outside)
A locked door cannot be opened from outside without a key, because the door
handle is uncoupled. To open the door, the outer door handle must be engaged
and the lock must be unlocked.
1. Turn the key towards the door hinge up to the stop.
2. Operate the door handle.
 The lock has been unlocked and the outside door handle has been engaged,
the door can be passed as long as the key has not been turned back.
Unlocking and enabling the door with an electric strike
1. Turn the key (360°) towards the hinge, but do not turn it up to the stop.
 The lock has been unlocked, but the outside door handle remains disengaged,
and the door can be passed through from outside.
 The door can be released for passage with an electric strike ("Electric strike",
page 67), for instance, after someone has rung a bell from outside.
Locking the door
1. Close the door.
2. Lock the door from inside or outside by turning the key a full rotation (single
turn locking)
 The lock has been locked and the outside door handle is disengaged. Then
the door can only be opened from the outside with a key.
