3. Downstream equipment can then be disconnected. Please also refer to the
instructions for use issued by the manufacturer of the downstream equipment.
4. Threaded connections with hexagon nuts must be loosened using an appropriate
tool.

Hexagon nuts with right-handed threads (without a groove around them) must be
loosened by turning them anticlockwise. Hexagon nuts with left-handed threads
(with a groove around them) must be loosened by turning them clockwise (see Fig.
2).
5. Use suitable protective caps to seal the connections on the compressed gas cylinder,
the pressure regulator and any other appliances.
6. Store the pressure regulator in a clean, dust-free and dry place until the next time it
needs to be used.
7. If the pressure regulator is out of use for a prolonged period, it should be cleaned
(see Section "Maintenance and care").

Important!

It is also vital to ensure that maintenance intervals are observed for appliances put into
storage. Only appliances which have been properly maintained whilst in storage may be
put to use when taken out of storage.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

Non-compliance with the maintenance and care instructions for the appliance
can result in severe injury to the patient.
Foreign materials or fluids must not get inside the appliance. The pressure
regulator may not be immersed in liquid!
The pressure regulator may not be sterilised!
6.1

Cleaning and disinfecting

• All of the inlet and outlet connections on the appliance must be sealed with suitable
and clean protective caps/plugs prior to cleaning and disinfecting the equipment.
6.1.1 Cleaning
Wipe the surface of the pressure regulator with a dry disposable cloth or with
a disposable cloth that has been moistened with clean water.
Cleaning agents containing alcohol or emollients may ignite if they come into
contact with compressed oxygen or nitrous oxide.
6.1.2 Disinfection
Only use approved surface disinfectants. Observe the manufacturer's instructions for use.
